During the frigid and barren winter months, your furnace is an absolute necessity in your home. A key component of your furnace is its filter. The furnace filter seems small and insignificant, but really it's the exact opposite.

Why change your furnace filter?

Your furnace filter keeps your furnace working as efficiently as possible and makes the air that you breathe in clean and pure. The furnace filter collects all the airborne dirt and dust that you would otherwise be breathing in. Replacing your furnace filter will prolong your HVAC system’s lifetime. One of the most common reasons for a HVAC system to break down is because of a dirty and clogged furnace filter. With an accumulation of dirt, the motor needs to work harder, air can’t pass through, and the system may overheat. It would be much easier as a homeowner to replace your furnace filter rather

than letting the system break down and having to buy an all new heating system for your home.

Saving money is something that should never be disregarded, and by changing your furnace filter you’re doing just that. With a clogged filter you are using more energy and with more energy comes higher energy costs. By changing your furnace filter you will also be avoiding the cost of any possible repairs that may need to happen as a result of your clogged filter. By simply changing your furnace filter you can be saving 5 to 15 percent on your monthly utility bill and avoid the cost of unnecessary repairs.

Pets, especially those with long hair will shed hair and produce dander, which will make it necessary to change your furnace filter more frequently.
